We propose multi-media tools to strengthen impact in conscious raising, data-gathering, advocacy and community decision-making and action. In examining our multi-media tool kit we propose that what all these methods have in common is that they promote ‘authentic’ learning and the democratisation of knowledge. In their application, we level the playing fields and listen to the voices of those we are working with - and in so doing we are promoting justice and ensuring integrity and an ethical approach to learning. There are many methods but we have chosen six to present to you. These are the River of Life, Knowledge Café, participatory mapping, field diaries and field plotting, stories of change and graphic facilitation.
