This is a free course that will take you approx. 2 hours in total. It gives an overview of different approaches to evaluation and impact assessment for Citizen Science projects and presents a set of instruments and how these have been applied in context.
The course is aimed at project coordinators and those persons responsible for evaluation and impact assessment in a Citizen Science project of any scientific discipline. Prior knowledge in evaluation and impact assessment is not needed for this course.
Applying an appropriate evaluation and impact assessment method is a key concern for many Citizen Science projects. It is an important learning process that needs to be designed from the onset, as an integral part of any project. By the end of this course, the learner will:
- Know the difference between evaluation and impact assessment
- Be able to choose an appropriate evaluation and impact assessment strategy for a specific project
- Know how to set up the evaluation process
- Know a series of instruments to be applied for evaluation and impact assessment
