In this section we will look at different types of citizen science activities within different domains and their use of technology. The main overview is of the different ways in which people participate in citizen science: ecological recording/observations, volunteer computing, volunteer thinking, DIY science, crowdsourcing, participatory sensing (active/passive), and civic science.
